A retired marine contractor, inventor, and lifelong dog enthusiast, Buzz Lee spent decades building a successful career with Gulf Coast Marine Construction along the Gulf Coast of Florida. After officially retiring in 2019, Buzz traded job sites for invention blueprints — and what began as a quiet retirement quickly evolved into his next big mission.
Guardian K9 Lock Solutions was born out of necessity, inspired by a real-life situation where safety, quick thinking, and protection came to a head. One evening, while stopped at a gas station, Buzz found himself facing two aggressive individuals. His trained protection dog was secured in a crate in the back of his truck — but in that critical moment, there was no way to release the dog fast enough. That frightening encounter sparked a simple but powerful idea: What if there was a reliable, remote-controlled system that could open a dog crate instantly — giving handlers the ability to deploy their dogs in an emergency?
From that moment on, Buzz set out to build a solution that didn't exist. Guardian K9 Lock Solutions became the first of its kind: a patented, remote-release kennel system designed for law enforcement, military personnel, sport dog handlers, and protection-focused pet owners alike.

When he's not innovating behind the scenes, Buzz enjoys spending time in Florida with his wife, two kids, three grandchildren, and his loyal dog, Ari - the four-legged friend who continues to inspire his passion for protection and purpose.
